Stepping Forward with Purpose

Justin recently participated in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Adult program. At the time of his enrollment, he was residing at The Hoper House, a sober living facility, where he was actively seeking opportunities to improve his life. His primary motivation was to become self-sufficient and build a stable future for himself and his daughter, who remained his central focus throughout the program.

With the support of the WIOA program, Justin explored career pathways that aligned with his interests and long-term goals. He decided to pursue a career in commercial driving and enrolled at Howard College to obtain his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). He successfully completed the CDL training program and earned his license on May 22, 2025.

Shortly thereafter, Justin secured full-time employment with the City of San Angelo on June 16, 2025. This role allowed him to immediately begin applying his CDL skills in a professional setting. His successful completion of the training and quick transition into the workforce demonstrate his dedication, resilience, and commitment to building a better future for himself and his family.
