Child Care Services are provided on a first-come, first serve basis to families that have applied and met eligibility requirements. The number of children we can help provide child care to is limited by funding, but we maintain a waiting list so that we can ensure that all available funding is spent.
In order to receive assistance families must meet federal, state and local guidelines.
Please review the information below to see if you may be eligible to be receive a child care scholarship or be placed on our wait list to receive child care assistance.
Initial Job Search/Work/Training Guidelines
Families may be eligible for assistance with child care expenses if you are seeking employment, working, going to school or are enrolled in a vocational program for a minimum of 25 hours per week for a single-parent home and combination of 50 hours per week for a 2-parent home.
Education Guidelines
If you are enrolled in full-time in a post-secondary undergraduate education program, then childcare can be provided for up to and not exceed a cumulative total of 60 months. This limit applies to parents who are meeting participation requirements by post-secondary education only. Parents who are both working and attending an educational program are not subject to the cumulative 60-month limit.
Educational program—A program that leads to one of the following:
- A high school diploma
- A certificate of High School Equivalency
- An undergraduate degree from an institution of higher education
Attending a job training or educational program—An individual is attending a job training or educational program if the individual:
- is considered by the program to be officially enrolled;
- meets all attendance requirements established by the program; and
- shows progress toward successful completion of the program, demonstrated through continued enrollment in the program at the time of eligibility redetermination
Income Guidelines
In addition to working or being in training, the family's income must be less than that shown below.

Family Asset Limit
Family assets must not exceed $1 million as certified by a family member.
Child's Citizenship or Legal Immigration Requirements
U.S. citizenship or legal immigrant status for each child on whose behalf you request our help with childcare expenses (birth certificate, alien registration card I-551, etc.).
Residency Requirements
Financial aid for child care is available to families throughout Texas, although eligibility guidelines may differ depending on where you reside. Workforce Solutions of the Concho Valley serves the following counties:

- Kimble
- Mason
- McCulloch
- Menard
- Reagan
- Schleicher
- Sterling
- Sutton
- Tom Green

Experiencing Homelessness?
If you do not have a permanent, fixed, and adequate residence and your children are lacking a nighttime residence that is fixed, regular, and adequate you may be able to receive childcare assistance as well.
This includes children who:
- are sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason;
- are living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, or camping grounds due to the lack of alternative adequate accommodations;
- are living in emergency or transitional shelters;
- are abandoned in hospitals;
- have a primary nighttime residence that is a public or private place not designed for or ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings;
- are living in cars, parks, public spaces, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, bus or train stations, or similar settings; and
- are migratory children who qualify as homeless because they are living in circumstances described above.
Fixed means stationary, permanent, and not subject to change.
Regular means consistent; used on a regular (e.g., nightly) basis.
Adequate means sufficient for meeting both the physical and psychological needs typically met in home environments
